I am fielding many calls these days from beginning people/actors asking about upcoming auditions here at ABC Film Video and how they can become involved. The calls and the enthusiasm are great, but most callers are untrained and unskilled, are unaware of the business and the process of auditions and casting, and don't even know what "Backstage" is. Some had gotten scammed from one of the many claiming to be "agents" or "agencies" playing on and profiting from people's dreams and inexperience. I have been trying to spend a little time explaining these things on the phone, but obviously a phone call is not going to be much of a help, especially on a busy day here. One guy said he once took a four week course, so felt he should be cast in our next film. ABC Film Video is a source of help for serious beginners who want to understand this industry better, to get some good foundation actor training in our ongoing classes, and a place to possibly get some beginning experience in professional acting. We have solid teachers and working professionals to answer questions and give the experience that is so necessary in this competitive industry. Take an acting class, a singing class, an audition class, the acting as a business seminar, and get started on the right path to working in this industry with proper training and current information. We do not do things in an unprofessional way, and neither should you. Contact us, set up an appointment, check us out, sign up for a class. Talk to you soon, Kevin Kennison
I have been a professional actor for over twenty years. Recently, I came in to audition for one of your projects, and you had a very arrogant way about you - I felt like you and the other person in the room were doing me a big favor by listening to me. You talk about being "professional." How about treating a pro with some respect?
